A proposal to brand the buttocks of people suffering from HIV has caused outrage in a country ravaged by the disease.

MP Timothy Myeni suggested making HIV tests compulsory for every person
in the southern African state and then forcing those who were infected
to be permanently marked with a warning logo.

claimed the scheme would help stop the spread of the killer disease by
reducing sexual activity between HIV positive people and uninfected
partners.
Speaking at a workshop for MPs on how to tackle the
AIDS epidemic, he added: 'Before having sex with anyone, people will
have to check their partners' buttocks before proceeding,'
Campaigners furiously criticised the idea.
Swazi AIDS campaigner Siphiwe Hlophe said the system would contravene human rights laws.
She said: 'How can a legislator lobby for the branding of HIV positive people?
'We
do not need legislators who think like him because some of the people
who voted for him could be positive, why is he then discriminating
them?
'He must stop lobbying his colleagues for such but instead call for them to stop discriminating positive people.'

Aids Support Organisation spokesman Vusi Matsebula added: 'His
utterances represent the views of someone who is still sleeping around.
'Maybe the branding will help him know what kind of a person he is about to sleep with.'
Swaziland
has the highest HIV infection rate in the world, with around 43 percent
of the population believed to be living with the disease.
The tiny landlocked southern African kingdom has previously been criticised for its failure to tackle the condition.
In 2001 Swaziland's king Maswati III was accused of dangerous double standards over HIV.
The
monarch, who has at least 17 wives, urged Swazi teens to wait until
their twenties before having sex and then publicly selected a
17-year-old girl as his latest bride.

C'est pas une mauvaise idee en soi. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Simple exemple : Avec nos habitudes fortement lié à la corruption, il suffirait que le malade donne quelque $$ et ce dernier quittera tranquille la clinique sans se faire tester ou marquer.

Résultat ? ? Les gens deviendront moins alertes face au VIH. Ils se diront que, fine mon partenaire n’est pas marqué, donc il n’est pas séropositif. Au moment ou, il y a des fortes chances que le dit partenaire, face partie de ceux qui ont soit échappée a la campagnes de dépistages, soit échappée au marquage par tatouage.

Ceci n’est qu’un exemple, parmi des tonnes, sur les conséquences négatives de cette pratique.



Bref, je trouve cette idée stupide. elle ne fera qu’augmenté le taux de VIH.

Convenience store owner shows mercy on would-be bandit; gives man bread and cash for family


A lucky Long Island bandit found compassion in an unlikely place: the wrong end of a shotgun.
Convenience store owner Mohammad Sohail,
after pulling a weapon on the would-be crook, sent the weeping man home
with $40 and a loaf of bread upon hearing he was broke and unemployed. The robber also vowed to end his life of crime before escaping with his life, the food and the cash. "He started crying," Sohail recalled Tuesday at the Shirley Express Convenience Store. "He said, 'I'm sorry. I have a family. I have no money for food. I have no job.'" The
unidentified masked bandit was not so contrite seconds earlier, when a
surveillance camera caught him waving a bat at Sohail while demanding
cash in the 12:35 a.m. robbery on May 21. "I said, 'Hold on. Relax,'" said Sohail, who was just about to close up shop. Rather
than empty the register, the 46-year-old Pakistani immigrant reached
beneath the counter and grabbed his licensed shotgun. As Sohail
came out to confront him, the robber dropped the bat, fell to his knees
and folded his hands in prayer, the video showed. He begged for
forgiveness, and explained his dire situation at home. Sohail, against odds longer than his daily Lotto customers face, listened and let him go. "I
told him, 'Promise me you'll never rob anybody again,'" Sohail said.
The robber quickly obliged. The owner then pulled $40 from his till,
and told the man to grab a loaf of bread on the way out. The
instantly rehabilitated thief thanked Sohail, called him a good man and
disappeared into the night. The whole thing was over in about two
minutes. "I feel really good because I helped someone," Sohail
said Tuesday. "Everyone should help each other. ... I did this because
he had problems. I don't call myself a hero." Sohail called the
police after the man fled from the store, but said he doesn't want to
press charges. The suspect's face isn't visible on the tape, making his
apprehension unlikely. Sohail, who lives in Shirley with his wife and 17-year-old son, said he was never scared - and with good reason. "I have a gun," he said. He also had a lot of sympathy for the man, blaming the economy for forcing good people into bad decisions. "Everybody
should live the American Dream," said Sohail, who opened his business
six months ago. "Everyone should have a job so this doesn't happen

Elle jure s’être endormie pendant la séance de tatouage.
La photo de la jeune belge, femme de ménage de Courtrai, faisait la Une du journal flamand Het Laatste Nieuws.
Les étoiles de deux millimètres à environ un centimètre couvrent sont visage, allant de l’oreille en passant par la mâchoire, le menton, la pommette, le front et le nez.
Le jeune femme s’est rendue chez un tatoueur parisien installé à Courtrai, avec son compagnon, son père, sa sœur et son frère.
« Je voulais qu’il me dessine trois petits points, mais il a proposé de faire trois étoiles, en disant que c’était bien plus beau» ,
témoigne Kimberley Vlaeminck.
« Quand il a commencé à me tatouer, je n’ai pas ressenti de douleur et je me suis endormie. Je m’étais levée à cinq heures du matin et j’avais déjà travaillé une demi-journée» , explique la jeune femme de ménage.
« Je me suis réveillée lorsqu’il a commencé à me tatouer le nez et j’ai vu ce qu’il avait déjà fait. J’ai compté 56 étoiles, c’est
effrayant» , poursuit-elle.
Kimberley Vlaeminck n’ose plus sortir dans la rue et a décidé de porter plainte contre le tatoueur. Elle veut aussi se faire enlever ces étoiles par laser, intervention qui coûte des milliers d’euros. Le tatoueur, Rouslan Toumaniantz, conteste formellement que sa cliente se soit endormie. « Elle était tout le temps éveillée, je ne l’ai pas hypnotisée ou droguée, elle était d’accord. Les roblèmes ont commencé quand son père et son ami ont vu les tatouages» , a-t-il déclaré au journal.

MIAMI (Reuters) – A fight broke out on a Florida bus when news of Michael Jackson’s death sparked debate over whether he should be remembered as a great musical talent, and one passenger was charged with assault, police said on Friday.
The bus was moving through the city of North Lauderdale on Thursday when passenger James Kiernan received a text message about Jackson’s death on his cell phone, and he read it aloud on the bus, the Broward County Sheriff’s Department said.
The unidentified bus driver opined that “Michael Jackson should have been in jail long ago,” prompting Kiernan, 60, to retort that “the
world just lost a great musical talent,” the police report said.
It said the last remark enraged another passenger, Henry Wideman, who started a swearing match with Kiernan, then pulled out a knife and
chased Kiernan down the aisle with it.
The driver called his dispatcher and pulled over near a convenience store to wait for sheriff’s deputies, who arrested Wideman, 54. He
remained in jail on Friday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Jamie Foxx is a FOOL. “He’s one of us,” was his response about Michael Jackson. He continued, “ “We want to celebrate this black man – he belongs to us – and we shared him with everybody else.”

People want to talk about not being segregated, but so many bring it on themselves and separate black and white. People like Jamie are full fledged racists. Michael was appreciated for his talent not skin color. MJ belonged to everyone. I grew up with him. He wasn’t looked at by his color. As a kid, that was the furthest thing from my mind.I loved his music and the Jackson 5’s music. I loved their songs and loved to dance.

It’s too bad, something happened to Michael that made him want to look white, he had to think so much about it, because he wound up whiter than me. But MJ was one of the greatest entertainers ever. Jamie, you are one full fledged racist and lucky as heck to get where you are. Your comment showed the world how ignorant you are. So many racists talk like they were never given a break. Jamie Foxx got his.

You didn’t “share” him. If that’s the case, others “shared” Elvis or the Beatles.

It makes one wonder how insecure Foxx is, like Spike Lee who shares these kinds of sentiments, to make such a statement. I will always say, those who cry “racist” the loudest are indeed the most racist.

Alright, here we go with another sports blog that … wait for it … isn’t about sports at all!

Instead this blog will be about … wait for, you know what, nevermind, you saw the title and clicked on it, this is clearly going to be about Michael Jackson.

I’ve heard and seen that some people have a problem with the media coverage of Jackson’s death and I am right there in that camp as well, except for one small exception. There are plenty of people upset that anyone would even mention any of the baggage associated with Jackson (massive plastic surgeries, alleged child predator, etc.) … I disagree with that very much and feel like it should have been mentioned far more frequently.

I don’t want anyone to put a hit piece out about Jackson, especially so close to his death, but all this glowing talk about what a great musician and entertainer he was didn’t accurately reflect the man’s life.

Here’s what I mean.

Take a look at the top selling musical items on Amazon.com; the top 3 are all from Jackson, at least they were when I checked the site. No doubt Jackson had all the talent in the world, but take a closer look: the three items in question are a pair of greatest hit albums and a reissue of Thriller … none of his music in the past 15 years is up in the mix for a top spot.

Why is that? Because Jackson hasn’t been musically relevant in the past 15 years!

Think about it, all the songs that are referenced as Jackson classics (i.e. Thriller, Bad, Beat It, etc.) came out more than 15 years ago. Since then Jackson has put out music, but none of it anywhere near as successful as the mega-heights he reached in the1980s. Since we moved into the 1990s and beyond, people knew Jackson for his run-ins with the law and propensity for plastic surgery.

Since, I mentioned plastic surgery, let’s take a quick second to talk about race.

Jamie Foxx went on and on at the BET Awards about how Jackson was a “black man.” He said it multiple times and I don’t know why; what does his race have to do with Jackson’s death? I don’t care if Jackson dyed his skin white or whatever else, what was notable about his appearance was the massive amounts of plastic surgery he got done in a vain attempt to stay young forever … Jackson was undoubtedly the poster child for the Peter Pan Syndrome. Let the race thing go Foxx, that has nothing to do with Jackson’s death.

Back on topic.

For the past 15 years, almost an entire generation, Jackson has been the butt of numerous jokes regarding his ever-altering appearance and possible pedophilia. Now because of his death, are we just supposed to forget about all that? Of course not! Those two issues are what defined the last 15, maybe even 20, years of Jackson’s life, not music.

You can argue that Jackson was never convicted on the charges of child molestation, and that’s true, but let’s not pretend like a rich celebrity has never bamboozled the justice system before with lots of money and fancy, big-city lawyers. And even if Jackson was completely innocent, he still admitted in past interviews that he would sometimes sleep in beds with young boys … and he didn’t mean family members, that isn’t right.

Jackson’s death was unfortunate, please don’t call it a tragedy, but I don’t want to hear about the coverage of his life being unfair, especially from people who either made fun of Jackson or didn’t pay attention to him for the past 15-20 years.

There’s a reason people stayed away from Jackson during that time period, and those reasons are a part of his life too … even in death.

Jamie Foxx paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson while hosting Sunday's BET Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The show opened with a medley of Jackson 5 hits, including "ABC" and "The Love You Save," as images of Jackson as a child flashed on a screen.
Host Foxx then walked on stage dressed as an 80s era Jackson - complete with the gloves - as "Beat It" blared in the background. He then showed off some of Jackson's signature moves, including Jackson's infamous crotch-grabbing routine.
He then shouted for the audience to clap their hands. "C'mon," he yelled, "for Michael."

Ahhh! I hope one day we'll be able to live in harmony with all races and be happy with ourselves...But it ain't happenin' in our lifetimes...Human beings are still too dumb for that.

wish that they get married, and they did it at the child's funeral. Amilcar Hill and Rahwa Ghirmatizion got married during Monday's funeral service in Buffalo for their son, Asa Hill. Asa died a day after his grandfather's car was involved a chain-reaction highway crash last week.
Hundreds of people packed the church for Asa's funeral. The couple surprised attendees by getting married, which the parents say their son had been asking them to do.Amilcar Hill says Asa's organs were being donated to save other young lives.
